Senior Service & Interaction Designer

As a Senior Service Interaction Designer, you play a key role for your client and creative team. You are an expert in user-centred design are able to determine exactly what the client needs; based on a well-founded understanding of people’s needs, you help define the product strategy, scope, functionality and approach. You have a guiding or executive role in usability research and feel responsible for context, customer journey and content, integrating them into your design. You work ‘Agile’ and strive to limit your deliverables. Naturally, you ensure that end-users are central the design process.

You understand that ultimately, we solve business problems using design. Based on a well-founded understanding of people’s needs, you keep an overview of all of the (Service & Interaction Design) work within your project(s); you monitor the progress and ensure correct execution. Working together with (and sometimes taking the role of) an experience strategist, but also a visual designer, front-end developer and client stakeholders. Approaching design from a scientific and/or creative perspective, you work in a structured manner and with the use of clear verbal and written communication and can correctly hand your work over to colleagues who realize the application.

Clients can’t live without your solicited and unsolicited advice, within and outside the project context. You know how to rally the troops around that one idea that will make your client even more successful in the digital world, because your passion is to constantly make digital products a bit better and more user-friendly.

In the Guild of interaction designers within the organization that come together for half a day every two weeks, you contribute to the atmosphere and expertise of yourself and your peers; because you closely follow trends in design, you spread this new knowledge and experiment in how it can be applied. As such, you are a main point of contact for constructive feedback and coaching.

The ideal candidate for Senior Service & UX Designer is confident, ambitious, self-aware and combines a sharp analytical ability with professional empathy. Strong communication and presentation skills are put to good use in conversation with stakeholders and users. You are able to explain design decisions in a way to ensure buy-in from the client. The challenge is to craft pragmatic solutions for complex problems that stand up to rigorous testing. You define problems and solve them using an evidence-based rationale. You think about systems and the people using them, not just the user interface.

You manage well with other fields related to UX Design: you know your methodologies, when to use them and have done that in previous projects. In the team you are responsible for making it work, making it feel good and to present your ideas in an effective manner. You have a Bachelor or Master degree in service, product or interaction design or a related field and 5+ years of experience.
